Activating Local Food Supply

Integrating food and agriculture as an element of community design, at a scale appropriate to local production, with the land owned and managed by the community for the health and education of the community, is the foundation for the working development plan for Southlands.

The shared experience of a community farm is no less important. Southlands is designed to protect open space and ecologically sensitive areas, maintain the agricultural heritage of the area and enhance local quality of life by providing housing, amenities and culture to the region.
