More detail needed
I see a lot of warm and fuzzy concepts in your materials, but I don't see a drawing or plan that shows the real division of land. If you want to sell us on local food, more parks and trails, and other general community improvements, you need to provide details about real things that will affect everybody's everyday life -- such as actual traffic patterns, planning for roads and trails, and housing density, among other things. I am interested in facts!
My primary concern is not whether the houses are built sustainably or whether people are working from them -- I want to know where they will be built, and how much of it will be apartments, condominiums, or other housing types.
Can you send me drawings?

The working development plan for Southlands does not yet include this amount of detail. There are still a number of steps prior to drafting a final plan that contains the details you'd like to see, such as architectural design and infrastructure planning, as well as community and municipal input.
For background, three preliminary plans were made available for consideration in June 2009. A PDF of that document is available for download here.
Please feel free to join our newsletter (see the sidebar to the right), and we can keep you up to date on what is happening with Southlands and the planning process.
