Culinary Education Kitchen

What better way to re-establish our relationship with food than by cooking it in a kitchen right next to the field where it’s grown.

This is the vision for a Culinary Education Kitchen, which was introduced during the Charrette process with much enthusiasm from volunteers and Century Group. The kitchen will be a place for local chefs to share their secrets, recipes and passions for preparing locally-grown food, in season.

Students young and old will not only learn how to use the great bounty we have available in the Lower Mainland but will benefit from the knowledge and techniques of their peers. The kitchen’s education component will also be a place for youth to expand their knowledge of cooking (and maybe even find their vocation).

By using locally grown food and encouraging local chefs to participate, a Culinary Education Kitchen will be a destination for both tourists and locals.
